Learn the Owen’s Defense with GM Miloje Ratkovic

Seriously? 1…b6 after White’s chest-puffed-out 1.e4?

That’s Owen’s Defense for you.

Hypermodern at best – that is, teaches you chess fundamentals.

Gives White an unrefuted opening to deal with.

What’s more… you are playing for a win this time.

No perpetual checks or dried-out positions.

You are going for asymmetrical and unpredictable structures.

If your lower-rated opponent does not know the correct lines to go for, they WILL end up in front of the mating cannonball sooner or later.

You? Well, you have got two choices:

1. Become the cannon fodder yourself.
2. Take GM Miloje Ratkovic’s latest: Owen’s Defense Complete System.

A 10-hour long video training that goes into the most popular lines arising from 1…b6, especially the ones that White is most expected to play.

GM Ratkovic also covers the scope of Owen’s Defense against other openings such as 1.d4 and 1.g3.
(Just to note: this opening rocks against closed openings.)

A sneak peek inside the training:

  • 1.g3 conundrum. What if White opens with 1.g3? Black cannot play 1…b6 here. If he does, he puts his innocent rook in danger. Let GM Ratkovic show you Black’s best response to this. Hint: this is not Owen’s Defense.

  • Unconventional structure. You got to be brave when you are an Owen’s Defense player. Or you are leaving those “opportunities” on the board – like opening up the king! What about the king’s safety? Follow GM Ratkovic’s advice here.

  • Long diagonals seige. Yes, you start by giving White complete central control but in the long run, your bishop on b6 is going to become a monster. Add the queen into the equation and a timely knight, do you see how powerful Black’s position can get? More in Chapters 7–9.

Why play Owen’s Defense as Black?

Simple – to befuddle your opponent out of his preparation. Trust me, they are expecting you to play the Sicilian when they play 1.e4. This training will help you with that.
