Complete Tactics Manual for Intermediate Players with IM Boroljub Zlatanovic

Take any of your games and analyze it with an engine. You will be surprised to find ALL those missed opportunities—both on your and your opponent’s side!

What if you could see and take advantage of those during the game? Yes, you won this time but you may not the next time. Don’t play chess on “hope”. Instead, prepare to see those tactical opportunities every time they happen during the game.

That’s why you need IM Boroljub Zlatanovic’s latest course, Complete Tactics Manual for Intermediate Players. In this 3.5-hour exclusive video training, Zlatanovic goes through some of the most common tactical motifs, from discovered checks to decoys to pinning.

Specially designed for intermediate-level players, this goes beyond the basic theory and explains the more intricate concepts around it. Neither too simple nor too advanced.

What you will learn:

  • One defender, two squares. When such weakness is the result of an imbalance, what do you do? You overwhelm that defender by attacking both the squares. In this position on the right, the White queen is protecting both the g2-square and the e3-square. And the Black queen and the bishop are already eyeing the g2-square to land a checkmate. What move should Black play? Take a look and try to find out. Or let Zlatanovic explain more in Chapter 1.
  • Nasty pin BUT… so the White rook captured the knight on e6 and Black retorted with a nasty pin. The rook has to fall, right? Wait for a second! When Fischer plays a tactic like this, you know that it’s not that easily solved—also that he already anticipated that Black queen move. What could be White’s reply here? We are talking about the “decoying” concept here. Let’s see if you can find it out.
  • Near-immediate threats beware! Don’t just look at your opponent’s next move. Look at the next 2 or more moves instead. Here, the Black knight is not under a definite pin, so it can move around. White expects to capture the Black queen on the next move. But is there an in-between move that can instantly win the game for Black instead? In-between moves are hard to see but very powerful!
