Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, born on August 10, 2005, is an Indian chess grandmaster. Known for his remarkable achievements at a young age, Praggnanandhaa made history by becoming an international master at 10 and a grandmaster at 12, becoming the second-youngest to do so. Alongside his sister R Vaishali, he holds the distinction of being the first brother-sister duo to achieve the Grandmaster title.

Praggnanandhaa's journey in chess is marked by amazing titles, including victories at the World Youth Chess Championships and impressive performances in prestigious tournaments worldwide. He became the youngest international master in history at 10 years and achieved his grandmaster norms at a remarkably young age. His triumphs extend to notable wins against top players like Magnus Carlsen and Fabiano Caruana.

In the Chess World Cup 2023, Praggnanandhaa's performance earned him a spot in the final, making him the youngest player to achieve this feat. Although he faced defeat against Carlsen in the final, his remarkable play secured him second place and qualification for the 2024 Candidates Tournament, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the world of chess. At the 45th Chess Olympiad in September 2024, Praggnanandhaa played on the second board for India. He scored 6 out of 10 points as India secured the gold medal. He clinched the Tata Steel Chess Masters 2025 title by triumphing over Gukesh Dommaraju in a thrilling tie-break showdown.
