For instance, a position might be given with the instruction (called stipulation) that white is to move first, and that the composition is a checkmate in two moves against any possible defense.

In Rated mode, your ranking will change after each puzzle. In Unrated mode you can practice and your ranking won't change.
In Standard mode, you won't have a time limit to solve the puzzle. In Advanced mode, you must solve the puzzle as fast as you can, and the amount of time taken to solve the puzzle will be considered in order to calculate your new rating.
That's the time taken to solve the current puzzle. If you are in advanced mode, the time it takes you to solve the puzzle will be considered to compute your new rating.
Pressing that button means you have done the last puzzle of your session. You'll be redirected to the puzzles main page and you can continue browsing the site.
You may start another puzzle solving session anytime you want.
Applying tags to a puzzle helps to categorize it. You can contribute to classify puzzles by adding or removing tags.
When a chess puzzle is first added to the site, it does not have any tags.
The rating formula used in 365Chess.com is based on the Glicko ratings system. After an attempt, the player's and puzzle's rating will change.
In Advanced mode, the time consumed in solving a puzzle modifies the final rating. The longer it takes to solve the puzzle, the less points you'll obtain.
In each attempt, each solver receives a puzzle that matches their current rating. Remember that the puzzle's rating depends on how previous players have performed.
