chess-amber-20The 20th, and final, Amber Blindfold and Rapid Tournament is taking place at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort in Monaco, from March 11 to 24, 2011.

Four sessions are played every day, two blindfold and two rapid. The rate of play is 25 minutes per game per player with 20 seconds added to the clock in the blindfold, and 10 seconds in the rapid.

Due to his excellent performance against Vugar Gashimov in the last round, Magnus Carlsen joined Levon Aronian and Alexander Grischuk in the shared lead in the overall standings.

Levon Aronian beat Hikaru Nakamura winning the Blindfold game and obtaining a draw in the rapid. Grischuk had the same result against Boris Gelfand.
